Are you a business owner that is trying to improve your customer relationship, a copywriter working hard to grow and improve the connection with your clients, or any other business owner, it really does not matter, this article and its content can have a large impact on your business life.
Relationships are the basis of everything, business or personal.
Relatives… businesses and corporations… relationships… every little thing.
If you don’t have a solid, trusting relationship, you should not be working together. It is really that simple.
Unfortunately most people simply do not understand that you can change the quality of relationships, FAST.
And you are going to learn that today.
Ok, let's get at it.
#1 – Be Genuinely Excited: Many times when I first talk to a client on the phone, I’ll ask certain questions such as how their business is going, what goals they’re trying to achieve with the project they offered me, etc. etc. When they answer my questions, I am really excited and want to do everything that I can to help them reach these goals. Increasing profits for my customers is not only about me. What it is really about his my client...and helping him to help his customers.
#2 - Promises: Here is a thought that my mentor shared with me not long ago. The quickest way to earn and build trust in any relationship is to make a promise and then deliver on it. When you do, remind them that you promised them something and it was just delivered.
Take a look at this example.
Let’s say you get a new prospect and promise to send them 3 things (such as referrals, samples, etc.) by a 3 p.m. on the same day. You would then do what you promised, and say… "As promised, here’s everything I promised to send". Every time you do this, you build a stronger connection to that person. And YES, the small things DO matter!
#3 -Apologize For Your Mistakes: Unfortunately most people today simply don’t think they ever do anything wrong. There is ZERO accountability on them personally, but 100% on the shoulders of the other party. Here’s a reality check. If your ego keeps you from admitting that you did something incorrectly at least a few times per week, you need to take a step back, get out a chair and whip, and put that ego back in it's cage. Being able to take responsibility is the mark of an amazing person who others want to have stick around.
There are dozens of other ways to increase your client relationships… but focus on these 3 and you’ll do fine.
Once you have mastered these three methods and want to lean more about becoming a very likable and respecetd person, try picking up a copy of How to Win Friends and Influence People. I’ve already read it 3x, and am planning to read it again this year as a refresher.
Are your relationships what you want them to be? Don't be ashamed of having relationships that are shaky at best right now, all that really matters is that you are willing to work to improve them.
